The datasheet states IEEE 802.3at compliant performance with 720 mA current capability — PoE+, where the PSE port tops out at 30 W.
For 802.3bt Type 3 or Type 4 the WHDG88402PG is not the right part, and the 802.3at figure cannot be extrapolated upward. When budgeting power across four ports, tell us the per-port current you are targeting and VOOHU will confirm the applicable scope against the current controlled document. Other PoE classes sit in the100/1000 BASE-T range.
PoE class, package, side assignment and internal order all match; the difference is the operating range — the WHDG88402PG is rated -40 °C to +85 °C and theWHDG88409PG0 °C to +70 °C.
Both put the common-mode choke on the chip side and group the pins across four ports the same way. Outdoor or unconditioned industrial sites call for the WHDG88402PG; an indoor equipment room is served by the other.
Pins 1–44 are the chip side and pins 45–88 the cable side, printed group by group on the drawing as Chip Side and Cable Side.
The four Gigabit ports fall into two blocks: pins 1–22 with 67–88, and pins 23–44 with 45–66, each block holding eight 1CT:1CT units — the eight channels of two ports. Orient the WHDG88402PG with pins 1–44 toward the PHY and 45–88 toward the RJ45 and each port's pairs run their own path. Not every part in the100/1000 BASE-T rangeprints these side labels, so read each drawing on its own.
