Mechanical dimensions, pin net names, PoE rating and every electrical value match; the schematics differ — the WHSG48601-2PTG draws all eight channels independently, while theWHSG48603PTGdraws the cable-side common-mode chokes of adjacent channels as a coupled pair.
The cross-talk item is written differently to match: Cross Talk on the WHSG48601-2PTG, Cross Talk (Adjacent Channels) on the other. The two share a land pattern so no PCB change is needed, but the internal structure differs and EMC has to be re-verified.
A component figure. The WHSG48601-2PTG drawing annotates the operating temperature line as including the part's own temperature rise, so self-heating is already inside the range.
Thermal design can compare against the measured component temperature directly, without setting aside a further margin. This matters more on a PoE part, where the supply current adds heat of its own: with the scope unclear it is easy to deduct the same margin twice. Only a few parts in the100/1000 BASE-T rangestate the scope.
A 30.00 × 12.20 mm body, 9.95 mm high.
It measures 15.24 mm across the leads on a 1.02 mm pitch, with 0.10 mm coplanarity across 48 terminations. The recommended land pattern of the WHSG48601-2PTG matches the48-pin dual-port non-PoE parts, but the body is both longer and taller than theirs. The pads carry over; the space the part occupies and the clearance above it have to be re-checked against this one.
