No. The WHSM24702N0 does not support PoE, and its datasheet assigns no DC balance current to the centre taps, so they cannot be used as a supply path.
Not as guaranteed boundaries. The WHSM24702N0 gives crosstalk and common-mode rejection as -25 dB typ from 1 to 500 MHz, and a typical value is not a limit. This differs from the Gigabit parts in the same range, where both are given as -30 dB min – and a minimum is what can go straight into a worst-case budget. In a 10G link margin analysis, treat these two as design references. If your project has to sign off against limits, raise it during selection. Other parts in this speed class are listed in the10G BASE-T range.
The WHSM24702N0 and WHSG24701D1 can share a land pattern, but they cannot be interchanged.Outline, height, lead span, pitch and recommended pads are identical, and so is the pin-to-net ordering. The functions are not: the WHSM24702N0 is 10G BASE-T, non-PoE, with 1500 VAC isolation hipot, while theWHSG24701D1is 100/1000 BASE-T supporting IEEE 802.3af 15W with 5000 VAC isolation hipot. This is a same-footprint, different-purpose pair, so it deserves particular care in BOM control – a mix-up will not show up at assembly, only later at link rate or power delivery.
