10G Ethernet transformer options for 10GBASE-T
These 10G Ethernet transformers, also called 10GBASE-T transformers or 10G Ethernet magnetics, serve 10GBASE-T copper ports on switches, server network adapters, storage systems and similar equipment. The range is SMD only, mainly single-port 24-pin parts on a 1.0 mm or 1.27 mm pitch plus 48-pin dual-port modules, with non-PoE, PoE+, PoE++ and 4PPoE versions. For multi-gigabit ports below 10G, compare 2.5G and 5G Ethernet transformers.
Dual-port modules
WHSM48702G and WHSM48701G place two 10G ports in one 48-pin SMD body for boards where the 10GBASE-T ports are laid out in pairs; WHSM48702P2 adds 4PPoE up to 2,400 mA.
PoE at 10G
Non-PoE parts sit alongside 10G PoE LAN transformers rated PoE+, PoE++ and 4PPoE, and selected parts are rated above 2 A. Data rate and power capability are separate requirements, so specify both.
Electrical margin
10GBASE-T leaves little margin. Review insertion loss, return loss and crosstalk across frequency against the PHY requirements, and keep the routing between the transformer and the RJ45 short and symmetric.

Where 10G Ethernet transformers are used
10GBASE-T brings 10 Gb/s to RJ45 ports over twisted-pair cabling, so 10G Ethernet magnetics sit wherever a 10G copper port is designed in.
Switches and server network adapters
Top-of-rack and campus switches and 10G server network adapters use single-port 24-pin 10GBASE-T transformers such as WHSM24002G, or dual-port modules where ports are paired.
NAS and storage systems
NAS units and storage servers with 10G copper ports use the same 10G Ethernet magnetics; the −40 to +85 °C WHSM24P01N0 suits enclosures that run warm.
High-power PoE access points
Wi-Fi 7 access points and small cells with 10G uplinks can take power through 10G PoE LAN transformers such as WHSM24706C2 (PoE++ up to 2,000 mA) or WHSM24P03-2PG (4PPoE up to 2,000 mA).

Questions about 10G Ethernet transformers

Is a 10G Ethernet transformer the same type of product as an SFP+ connector?
No. This page covers transformers for 10GBASE-T copper interfaces. SFP+ connectors and cages provide electrical connection and mechanical accommodation for pluggable modules. Identify the interface architecture first; the presence of “10G” does not make these products interchangeable.
Does a specification extending to 500 MHz prove 10G compatibility?
Not by itself. Review the part’s stated interface use, target PHY requirements and frequency-dependent limits for each parameter. The highest test frequency is not the link rate, and one parameter does not demonstrate compliance of the complete 10GBASE-T interface.
Do all 10G Ethernet transformers support PoE++?
No. Data rate and power capability are separate requirements, and the range includes non-PoE and different PoE options. Provide the power role, current and temperature requirements for a part-specific check. Other rate ranges can also include PoE++ options; it is not exclusive to 10G.
Will replacing the transformer fix a 10G link failure or packet loss?
Not necessarily. Check PHY configuration, center taps and pin connections, PCB signal paths, the RJ45 and cable conditions alongside the transformer data. Share the PHY, schematic and reproducible conditions with FAE to narrow the cause before deciding whether replacement or reselection is needed.
How do I obtain 10G transformer samples and volume pricing?
For a known part, provide quantity, destination and required timing. During selection, add the target PHY, ports, temperature and PoE needs. Selection support and commercial confirmation can proceed according to the request; sample evaluation does not automatically qualify a part for production.
Is VOOHU a 10G Ethernet transformer manufacturer?

Should I choose a 1.0 mm or 1.27 mm pitch 10G Ethernet transformer?
Pitch follows the footprint, not the data rate. WHSM24002G and WHSM24P01G use 1.0 mm, while WHSM24702N0 and WHSM24707D0 use 1.27 mm. Keep the pitch your layout was drawn for, or update the footprint before switching parts.
