Use the internal schematic to map each of the four transmit and receive winding groups to its PHY channel and front-panel port, and retain clear port numbering on the schematic. The four magnetic circuits are independent; do not infer TX/RX or center taps from pin order alone. On the first board, verify polarity, link establishment, and port-indicator logic for every port.

WHD40103G is a long, quad-port magnetic module with an approximately 37.80 ± 0.50 mm × 7.80 ± 0.50 mm body and a maximum height of 11.00 mm. Pin pitch is 1.78 mm, row spacing is 4.80 mm, recommended hole diameter is 0.90 mm, and the longitudinal pin span is 33.82 mm. The same pin count does not make the hole pattern, row spacing, or outline compatible.

Use preheating at 100-110 °C for 60-90 s and peak soldering at 255-265 °C for 3-5 s as the initial component-side window. Before mass production, measure temperature on the actual board with its real thickness, copper area, and carrier, and inspect all 40 pins for solder fill, bridging, and thermal shadowing. Solder-pot setpoints alone do not establish the component's actual thermal exposure.
