The suffix marks the isolation grade: the WHS16037-2KG is rated 2500 VAC where the standard parts on its land pattern are rated 1500 VAC.
The test conditions differ as well: 1 mA for 2 s here against 1 mA for 60 s there. Everything else — inductance, DC resistance, turns ratio, insertion and return loss, cross talk, common-mode rejection, outline and land pattern — matches thestandard part. Where the safety documentation calls for the higher short-duration figure, this part fits without a board change.
Neither is simply stricter — the two are different test conditions and cannot be compared on voltage alone.
The WHS16037-2KG is tested at 2500 VAC for 2 s, the standard parts at 1500 VAC for 60 s — 1000 V higher, but applied for a thirtieth of the time. Which one to choose follows from how the system's safety documentation is written: a short-duration high-voltage clause points to the WHS16037-2KG, a longer mid-voltage clause to the standard part. Above 1500 VAC theproduct linealso lists 2500, 3000, 4000, 4800 and 5000 VAC grades, each with its own dwell time.
On ø330 mm tape and reel, 600 pieces per reel, three reels to an inner carton for 1800 pieces and two inner cartons to an export carton for 3600.
The WHS16037-2KG is surface-mount and reflow-assembled, with coplanarity held to 0.10 mm across 16 terminations. Thestandard partand the wide-temperature part on the same land pattern ship the same quantities, so reel count cannot be used to tell the three apart — incoming checks have to go by the marking on the body.
