The datasheet states PoE support of 30 W with each channel carrying 720 mA of DC balance current. 30 W corresponds to IEEE 802.3at — PoE+.
The figure is quoted per channel, so read it as written when budgeting port power rather than multiplying it out to a port total. For 802.3bt Type 3 or Type 4 the WHDG48209PG is not applicable. Tell us the per-port current you are targeting and VOOHU will confirm the applicable scope. Other PoE parts are listed in the100/1000 BASE-T range.
Two. The WHDG48209PG holds eight 1CT:1CT units forming eight channels across four pairsets, and a Gigabit port takes two pairsets — so two Gigabit ports.
The schematic labels the two sides explicitly as Chip Side (pins 1–24) and Cable Side (pins 25–48). A 48-pin 100M part would give four ports, since a 100M port needs only two channels. Working back from pin count to port count therefore requires fixing the data rate first, or the answer is out by a factor of two. Both rates are covered in theLAN Transformer range.
The WHDG48209PG is rated -40 °C to +85 °C, covering the range normally seen outdoors and on industrial sites.
Against the 0 °C to +70 °C common among through-hole Gigabit parts, this one gains 40 °C at the cold end. That is the component's own operating range, so enclosure temperature plus the part's self-heating both have to land inside it — measure the component temperature at the highest planned internal temperature and worst airflow. Isolation is 1500 VAC / 1 mA / 60 s. Temperature grades are listed per part in the100/1000 BASE-T range.
