No. The WHSQ24701G operates from 0 °C to +70 °C; the wider band is a storage range for the unpowered part, and the two answer different questions.Storage temperature bounds what the component withstands while unpowered in transit and in the warehouse. Operating temperature is the component temperature boundary once the equipment is running.
The storage band of the WHSQ24701G is the widest currently published on this product line, so shipping and warehousing rarely need climate control, but it does not widen the running boundary. Where equipment must start below freezing, choose a wide-temperature part instead and send VOOHU the port current and footprint constraints. Other options are listed in the2.5G/5G BASE-T range.
No. The datasheet of the WHSQ24701G assigns no DC balance current capability to the centre taps – there is no current item among its eleven electrical entries, so the taps cannot carry supply current.Terminate the centre taps as the reference design for the target PHY requires.
Where the port has to deliver power, theWHSQ24702-1PTGpublishes 720 mA per magnetic channel and theWHSQ24706-2PTGpublishes 1200 mA, both single-port 24-pin parts in the same package size as the WHSQ24701G. Check the choice against the steady current of the target port, and do not try to substitute a non-PoE part by widening copper.
The WHSQ24701G datasheet carries a full reflow profile: a 250 °C peak held for no more than 10 s, with 60 s to 150 s above the 217 °C liquidus.Both ramp rates are capped at 6 °C/s, which is looser than the 3 °C/s ramp-up theWHSQ24706Gspecifies, so an oven recipe built to that stricter profile can be used on the WHSQ24701G, though not the other way round.
What the datasheet does not carry is an MSL rating or a floor life. Moisture handling and any bake requirement therefore cannot be copied from a sibling part; ask VOOHU for the process document for the WHSQ24701G before releasing the line.
