The datasheet defines the PoE capability of the WHSQ48004-1PG in two matching lines: PoE Support 30W, and each channel supports 720 mA of DC balance current.The 30 W is a device-side rating and not the power finally available at the PD, while the 720 mA belongs to each centre-tap path on its own; no port total or device total is published, so the figure must not be multiplied.
No IEEE 802.3 clause or PoE class name is quoted for the WHSQ48004-1PG, so compliance has to be established on the finished equipment rather than read off the device rating. Other options are listed in the2.5G/5G BASE-T range.
One reel of the WHSQ48004-1PG holds 350 pieces.The part ships on a Ø330 mm carrier reel, with two reels to an inner carton at 700 pieces and two inner cartons to an export carton at 1400 pieces, so ordering in whole reels is the simplest route through production planning. Ask VOOHU to confirm any part-reel quantity and how it would be split.
No reflow profile and no MSL grade are printed on the WHSQ48004-1PG datasheet, so request the process document rather than reusing the curve published on another drawing in this range.
Take the WHSQ48004-1PG where the steady current in each channel stays within 720 mA, and move to theWHSQ48002-1PGonly where a higher per-channel current is needed – it publishes 1000 mA per channel at a stated PoE Support 50W.Apart from the current rating the two are the same part on paper: package and pad layout, pin assignment, OCL with its 14 mA bias condition, insertion and return loss, crosstalk, common-mode rejection, the isolation test, the 0 °C to +70 °C operating range and the reel quantity are identical on the WHSQ48004-1PG and the WHSQ48002-1PG.
Switching does not change the signal-side design, only the centre-tap copper, and there is no performance reason to take the higher rating for margin alone.
