Component selection
A push-pull converter is an isolated voltage-switching regulator. Depending on the selected winding ratio of the transformer, its output voltage can be higher, lower, or equal to the input voltage; the feedback signal on the isolated output side can be fed back through the transformer windings. While the circuit structure is slightly more complex, its efficiency is higher than that of a flyback converter. A common application is to achieve electrical isolation between interfaces and sensors.
