How to select
Narrow the published fields in sequence, compare the remaining candidates and verify the part-specific files before design-in.
Record input range, output voltage, continuous load, startup needs, available space and thermal constraints.
Identify the driver IC or circuit, operating frequency and drive arrangement, then check turns ratio, center taps and pins.
Review isolation test conditions, inductance, DCR, leakage inductance and package. Confirm the required volt-time capability in the applicable document or with engineering.
Confirm document revisions and arrange sample testing. Request pricing directly for an identified part; have the FAE compare the original and candidate parts for a replacement project.
Key selection parameters
Identify the stated pins and winding sections. An abbreviated ratio is not a regulated output-voltage specification.
Check measurement frequency, voltage and the stated minimum or tolerance. Similar values can have different test conditions.
Compare the specified winding, conditions and maximum or typical value. These figures alone do not establish power, efficiency or temperature rise.
Check AC/DC, test voltage, duration and pins together. A single test-voltage figure does not establish operating voltage or an insulation classification.
Review it against the voltage applied to the winding and its duration. Submit your drive conditions for confirmation where the part document does not provide this parameter.
Check polarity dots, center taps, dimensions and land pattern. A matching outline does not establish electrical compatibility.

A push-pull transformer provides the isolated magnetic coupling in a converter topology. It is not a finished DC-DC module: no switching controller, no rectification, no regulation. You supply those. If you need a drop-in isolated supply, buy a module; if you are designing the converter, this is the part.
The ratio between primary and secondary windings, with the input voltage and the topology, determines the output voltage before regulation. Parts with multiple secondaries have a ratio for each. Read each winding's ratio from the datasheet rather than inferring it from the part number, because notation varies between series.
Primary inductance, switching frequency and input voltage together determine how far the core is driven each cycle. Running a transformer below its intended frequency pushes the core toward saturation. Confirm the frequency range from the datasheet and verify flux margin at worst case.
FAQ & related guides
These answers guide the page workflow. Part-specific engineering limits still come from the linked technical files.
Both list a 475 μH minimum inductance. Their turns ratios are 1CT:1.3CT and 1CT:1.1CT, while their isolation test ratings are 3100 VAC and 3000 VAC, respectively, both for 2 seconds. Compare these differences against your driver, output and isolation requirements rather than selecting by inductance alone.
The WHST06E12A0 datasheet specifies 1CT:1.3CT between pins 1–3 and 6–4. CT denotes a center tap. The abbreviated selector value does not replace the winding diagram: check taps, polarity dots and drive connections. The ratio alone does not define a regulated output-voltage ratio.
No. It is an inductance minimum under specified small-signal measurement conditions. Share drive voltage, switching frequency, duty cycle and load so the engineering review can consider magnetizing behavior, losses and temperature rise. Include your reference circuit and candidate part if the drive arrangement is already defined.
The 3000 VAC figure for E14A1 and 3100 VAC for E12A0 are isolation test values under specified conditions; both datasheets list 1 mA and 2 seconds. They are not continuous working-voltage ratings or sufficient evidence of equipment insulation classification. Provide the actual working voltage and system isolation requirements when selecting a part.
If the part is already identified, send its number, quantity, project stage and requested delivery date to your sales engineer for samples or pricing. For uncertain selections or replacement projects, also provide the input/output requirements, driver circuit and original datasheet so the FAE can assess candidates and validation needs.
