Choosing a 3532A chip LAN transformer
A 3532A chip LAN transformer is a surface-mount X’fmr+CMC part between the PHY and the RJ45 jack, carrying the data pairs across a magnetic barrier. It is also called a chip Ethernet transformer or SMD LAN transformer. One 3532A size spans gigabit, 2.5G/5G and 10GBASE-T listings, non-PoE or PoE af. OCL under DC bias
OCL is listed with its bias: 200 µH at 8 mA for WHLT-3532A-201MGN, 150 µH at 8 mA for WHLT-3532A-151MQF and 120 µH at 10.5 mA for WHLT-3532A-121MMF. Compare OCL only under the same condition.
PoE af ceiling
WHLT-3532A-151MQF and WHLT-3532A-121MMF carry a PoE af label and WHLT-3532A-201MGN is non-PoE. Check the PoE current rating in each datasheet before you size the port.

Do all 3532A parts support 10G and PoE?
No. WHLT-3532A-201MGN is the Gigabit non-PoE option, WHLT-3532A-151MQF is the 2.5G/5G PoE af option, and WHLT-3532A-121MMF is the 10G PoE af option. Select by individual part number.
Can I replace a 120 µH part with a 200 µH part based on inductance alone?
No. They correspond to different speed, bias and loss conditions. Compare the PHY requirements, insertion loss, return loss, pins and power architecture; higher inductance is not a universal upgrade.
Does 3532A contain an integrated common mode choke?
The reviewed datasheet shows a center-tapped transformer schematic. The website’s X’fmr + CMC field alone does not establish an additional integrated choke. If your design depends on that function, ask engineering to confirm the internal structure and companion-component requirements.
How do I assess 3532A for a low-profile design?
Compare the part drawing’s height, pads and installation clearance, then include the area needed by companion components. A chip package does not guarantee the same space saving in every circuit; account for the surrounding network when replacing a module.
