For 400G module power, a common start is a QSFP-DD cage with heat sink: WH81161Y00471 (1 x 1) or WH81177004331 (1 x 4). WH8117701N011 is a vented 1 x 1 cage for designs that cool the module another way.

QSFP-DD connector and cage choices
A QSFP-DD connector is the double-density host connector of a 400G pluggable port, and a 400G QSFP-DD cage encloses it at the panel. It is also listed as a QSFP-DD receptacle. This range lists both separately: 1 x 1 and 1 x 4 press-fit cages, with a heat sink or heat dissipation holes, plus PCB connectors with 15U or 30U gold. Single port or ganged 1 x 4
WH81177004331 holds four ports in one press-fit cage with a heat sink and a Ni 30U shell, fixing port pitch across a faceplate. Single-port cages suit cards with spread-out ports.
Connector gold and mounting
WH81177C00021 is a QSFP-DD PCB connector with 30U gold, listed for solder mounting. WH690M019D0S01 has 15U gold; take its mounting method from the datasheet. Choose thicker gold where modules are changed often.
Press-fit cage checks
The cages listed here are press-fit. Check plated-hole size and board thickness against the drawing, and plan support under the board for the pressing tool before you release the layout.
Applications
QSFP-DD connector uses in 400G equipment
These ports bring 400G to the faceplate where high bandwidth per port is needed.
400G spine and AI fabric switches
Spine and AI or HPC fabric switches use rows of 400G ports. The 1 x 4 heat sink cage WH81177004331 keeps four ports on a fixed pitch over their PCB connectors.
Routers and transport line cards
Core and edge routers and transport line cards use 400G client ports. A single-port cage with heat sink such as WH81161Y00471 suits cards where ports are spread across the faceplate.
Test and lab equipment
400G traffic generators and lab fixtures need only one or two ports. A vented 1 x 1 cage such as WH8117701N011 is one option; confirm the connector pairing in the drawings.

Are QSFP-DD and QSFP the same connector?
Do not treat them as the same component. Select against the target interface specification, module and host drawing; assess compatibility specifically.
Does a QSFP-DD cage include the PCB receptacle?
Do not assume inclusion with a standalone cage. This series lists cages and connectors separately, so verify each ordered item.
How do I verify a cage and receptacle combination?
Check specified mating documentation, module centerline, PCB placement, retention and panel clearance, then validate samples.
Does a 400G catalog field guarantee system performance?
No. Validate the part’s electrical performance with the module and PCB. A cage catalog label is not an equipment test result.
What information is needed for a QSFP-DD quote?
Send the cage or connector part, any pairing-review request, accessories, quantity and timing. If no part is selected, share the target module and mechanical drawings.
Is VOOHU a QSFP-DD connector manufacturer?
Yes. VOOHU manufactures QSFP-DD connectors and cages in its own connector factory in Dongguan, China. The same plant builds our QSFP28 and QSFP56 parts, which helps when one platform mixes 100G, 200G and 400G ports.
Do the QSFP-DD cages here have light pipes?
The selector shows no light pipe on the cages listed here. Plan port status LEDs on the faceplate beside each port, and check the cage drawing for clearance before you fix their position.
Should I use QSFP-DD or a QSFP112 connector for 400G?
Both formats appear in our range with a 400G rating. QSFP-DD is the double-density format on this page, while our QSFP112 PCB connector serves QSFP112 modules. Choose by the module your system uses, and lay out each part to its own drawing.
