Series overview
The WHAL4520A common mode choke, or CMC, is VOOHU’s 4520-size power line choke and the smallest body in this power line choke family. Every part is rated 50 V with 10 MΩ minimum insulation resistance; current runs from 1 A to 3.2 A and maximum DCR from 35 mΩ to 80 mΩ. Reference impedance at 100 MHz steps closely from 90 Ω to 3000 Ω. For more current, see WHACM07A40R common mode chokes.
WHAL-4520A-302T0 lists 3000 Ω reference and 2500 Ω minimum impedance at 100 MHz at 1 A, and WHAL-4520A-202T0 2000 Ω reference at 100 MHz at 1.5 A. Both carry 80 mΩ maximum DCR, so keep these EMI chokes on light feeds.
WHAL-4520A-142T0 (1400 Ω reference at 100 MHz, 1.9 A), WHAL-4520A-122T0 (1200 Ω, 2.0 A) and WHAL-4520A-102T0 (1000 Ω, 2.1 A) step through the 2 A range as DCR falls from 80 mΩ to 60 mΩ.
WHAL-4520A-901T0 (900 Ω reference at 100 MHz, 2.1 A), WHAL-4520A-701T0 (700 Ω, 2.2 A) and WHAL-4520A-501T0 (500 Ω, 2.4 A) run on to WHAL-4520A-401T0 and WHAL-4520A-381T0, rated 2.5 A with 420 Ω and 380 Ω reference at 100 MHz.
WHAL-4520A-151T0 and WHAL-4520A-900T0 reach 3.2 A at 40 mΩ and 35 mΩ, the lowest DCR here. WHAL-4520A-301T0 and WHAL-4520A-231T0 carry 3 A at 45 mΩ with 300 Ω and 230 Ω reference impedance at 100 MHz.
Applications
Small boards with modest input current suit this 50 V series.
IoT gateways, sensor hubs and small cameras on 5 V or 12 V inputs draw modest current. WHAL-4520A-102T0 or WHAL-4520A-122T0, rated 2.1 A and 2.0 A, fits as a compact common mode filter.
Set-top boxes, smart speakers and displays often run from a 12 V adapter. WHAL-4520A-301T0 or WHAL-4520A-231T0 at 3 A keeps DCR at 45 mΩ while adding 300 Ω or 230 Ω reference impedance at 100 MHz.
A 12 V or 5 V output feeding an external camera or sensor carries board noise out on its cable. WHAL-4520A-302T0, rated 1 A, adds 3000 Ω reference impedance at 100 MHz as an EMI filter.

FAQ
Where the parts are made, which to use at 2.5 A and what to read first.
It targets lines where the compact size bands run out of margin. The exact figure comes from the datasheet and is defined under stated temperature-rise conditions, so derate for the ambient inside your enclosure and for restricted airflow before deciding it fits.
More than at low current, because conduction loss rises with the square of the current while the voltage drop rises linearly. At high load both the rail tolerance and the winding temperature become real constraints, so read the maximum DC resistance rather than a typical value.
Usually there is a trade. Thicker wire for current means fewer turns in the same window, which tends to lower inductance and move the impedance peak. Whether that matters depends on where your scan fails, so compare the impedance at your frequency rather than the peak value.
Measure the winding or body temperature on the real board at full load, in the real enclosure, at the highest ambient the product will see. The datasheet rating assumes stated conditions, and a sealed box with no airflow is usually not those conditions.
With a complete part number, send the part number, quantity, delivery region and the date you need it. If you are still selecting, send the line current, the frequency band where your scan fails and the ambient temperature, and a sales engineer will confirm candidates.
VOOHU manufactures the WHAL4520A common mode chokes in its own magnetics factory in Mianyang, China. The impedance steps are close, so you can sample the parts either side of your first choice and compare them on one board.
WHAL-4520A-301T0 and WHAL-4520A-231T0 are rated 3 A, and WHAL-4520A-151T0 and WHAL-4520A-900T0 3.2 A, so they leave margin. WHAL-4520A-401T0 and WHAL-4520A-381T0 are rated exactly 2.5 A, which leaves none. For more impedance at that current, step up to WHACM07A40R.
Read the impedance curve, not only the 100 MHz values in the selector. Then confirm DCR and rated current at your load, the 50 V rating against your rail and the outline drawing for the land pattern.
