A 180° board-mount locking RJ45 connector is wave soldered to the PCB and mates straight out of the board, giving a front-panel board a latching port with no inside patch cable. What does 180 degree mean here?
The cable exits straight out, in line with the connector axis, rather than turning at a right angle. That suits a board mounted parallel to the panel where the cable can run directly away from the enclosure without a bend at the connector.
Straight or right angle exit?
Straight exit needs depth in front of the panel for the cable to run away. Right angle keeps the cable close to the enclosure but needs the turn radius at the side. Choose from the mechanical layout of the finished installation, not from the board alone.
Does the board carry the mechanical load?
Yes, on a board mount part. Plugging force, cable strain and any pull on the locked connection are reacted through the solder joints unless additional retention is provided. Consider retention posts or a bracket where the port is user accessible.
How much bend radius should I allow?
Follow the cable manufacturer's minimum bend radius, measured from where the cable leaves the connector body. A bend tighter than that degrades the pairs and can cause intermittent faults that only appear after the equipment is installed.
How do I request samples or a quote?
With a complete part number, send the part number, quantity, delivery region and the date you need it. If you are still selecting, send the board mounting height, the available depth in front of the panel and the cable type.
