Right-angle locking RJ45 connector for panels

WHKNZ6390 is a 90° locking RJ45 connector in adapter form: it screws to the panel, latches the mated plug and turns the link through a right angle so the cable runs along the wall. It is also called a 90° locking RJ45 adapter, right angle RJ45 adapter or panel mount RJ45 adapter. For an in-line path, see the 180° straight-through feed-throughs.

Fixed with self-tapping screws

As a locking RJ45 panel mount part, WHKNZ6390 is held by self-tapping screws, so the enclosure wall carries the plugging force. Check that the panel material holds the thread.

Body envelope

WHKNZ6390 measures 28×33×34.75 mm; leave room behind the panel for the body and the turned cable.

Contact ratings and climate

WHKNZ6390 is rated 1.5 A DC and 125 V AC per contact, for −40 °C to +85 °C at 20–70% humidity.

Latch lock and mating cycles

The latch lock holds the plug against tugs and vibration; the part is listed for 1,000 mating cycles.

When do I need a 90 degree adapter?

When there is not enough depth behind the panel for a cable to exit straight, or when the cable must run along the enclosure rather than away from it. Turning the cable at the connector avoids a tight bend immediately behind the panel, which strains the terminations.

What does the locking mechanism do?

It holds the mating pair together mechanically, so the connection survives vibration and accidental pulling on the cable. A standard RJ45 latch relies on a small plastic tab, which is the usual failure point in industrial and mobile installations.

Which way does the exit face?

The orientation is fixed by the part, so the cable leaves in a defined direction once the connector is mounted. Check the drawing against your panel layout before ordering, because the exit direction cannot be changed after assembly.

Does the metal shell need grounding?

If the installation uses shielded cable and you want the screen carried to chassis, the shell needs a defined low impedance path to ground. Confirm how the panel mounting achieves that, because a shell that floats gives no shielding benefit.

How do I request samples or a quote?

With a complete part number, send the part number, quantity, delivery region and the date you need it. If you are still selecting, send the panel thickness, the depth available behind it and the required cable exit direction.

Is VOOHU the manufacturer of this 90° locking RJ45 connector?

Can WHKNZ6390 be used in cold or wet locations?

Its −40 °C to +85 °C, 20–70% humidity rating covers cold, dry sites. No waterproof rating is listed; for wet locations, see the 90° waterproof RJ45 sockets.

Does it share a body with the 180° straight-through parts?

The 28×33×34.75 mm body is also listed for some 180° straight-through locking RJ45 connectors, with the same screw fixing and latch lock. Equal outlines do not prove a shared cutout; check each drawing.
