Series overview
The JL6107 Ethernet switch IC combines five external gigabit copper ports with two uplink ports, listed as 5+2, and an MII host interface at 1.8 V. Within the series, the S and SC parts add a 1000BASE-X optical port and act as a fiber uplink switch IC; the base parts are copper only. Every part uses LQFP128 at 14 × 14 mm, in commercial and industrial grades. For eight ports with fiber, see the JL6110 series.
JL6107-PC and JL6107-PI list no optical port. JL6107S-PC, JL6107S-PI, JL6107SC-PC and JL6107SC-PI list 1000BASE-X with a 3.3 V (1.1 V) supply, against 1.1 V for the copper parts. The selector shows no other difference between S and SC parts.
Every JL6107 part lists MII at a 1.8 V MAC interface voltage, unlike the 3.3 V listed for the 100M host-port parts and the JL6110. Match it to a processor with 1.8 V MAC I/O.
Every JL6107 part uses LQFP128 at 14 × 14 mm, whose leaded pins make solder joints easy to inspect. Each copper port also needs gigabit magnetics and an RJ45 jack; see our gigabit Ethernet transformers.
PC parts cover 0 to 70 °C and PI parts −40 to +85 °C, in copper and fiber versions alike. JL6107SC-PI, for example, is an industrial Ethernet switch IC with the 1000BASE-X port.
Applications

A DIN-rail switch can serve five copper devices and reach the next cabinet over fiber through an SFP cage; JL6107S-PI lists 1000BASE-X and −40 to +85 °C.
Edge gateways can use this gigabit Ethernet switch IC to put a processor with a 1.8 V MAC on the network; JL6107-PC keeps the design copper only.
A fiber-to-copper converter with local ports can take the fiber uplink on an S or SC part and share it across five gigabit copper ports.

The S variants, including the SC parts, are listed with 1000Base-X support. The base JL6107 parts are copper only. Because fibre support varies within this series, always check the complete part number and suffix rather than relying on the series name alone.
One link can reach the host controller and the other can cascade to a second device or carry a fibre uplink, depending on the variant. Confirm the intended combination from the datasheet rather than assuming any two functions can be assigned to the two links.
Yes. The base parts are listed with a 1.1 volt core rail, while the S variants are listed with a 3.3 volt supply alongside the core. Because the power tree differs between variants of the same series, confirm the rails against the exact part number before layout.
Fourteen millimetres square with high pin count, which needs space for five gigabit differential pairs plus magnetics, the uplink routing and decoupling. Follow the datasheet placement and thermal guidance, and confirm clearance and assembly process before committing the layout.

The JL6107 S and SC parts give five copper ports plus 1000BASE-X in LQFP128 at 14 × 14 mm, with MII at 1.8 V. The JL6110 series gives eight copper ports, 1000BASE-X on every part and MII at 3.3 V, in TQFP176 at 20 × 20 mm.
