EFD20 PoE Power Transformers

The same 12 V output requirement can involve different loads and control conditions. EFD20 includes WH300F-50L, WH300F-12L, WH300F-24L and other candidates for isolated DC/DC power designs in PoE powered devices. Review the available power budget and circuit before comparing windings, temperature rise and layout.

Series overview

EFD20 PoE transformer options by power

An EFD20 PoE transformer serves the isolated DC-DC converter of a PoE powered device with a higher power budget. It also goes by EFD20 PoE power transformer or EFD transformer. Parts here are listed from 30 W to 100 W, with 5 V, 12 V or 24 V outputs. For 24 V at 60 W or 90 W, see EFD25 PoE transformers; for 30 W in an EP core, see EP13 PoE transformers.

01

Power steps

WH300F-50L, WH300F-12L and WH300F-24L are listed at 30 W, WHTSE030 at 60 W and WHTS20EF1000U at 100 W. Each step is a different EFD20 transformer design with its own windings and drawing, not a higher setting of one part.

02

Output rails

WH300F-50L covers 5 V and WH300F-24L covers 24 V. For 12 V you can choose WH300F-12L, WHTSE030 or WHTS20EF1000U, depending on the load and the power the source can supply.

03

Output current

WH300F-24L is listed at 1.08–1.99 A, while WH300F-50L, WH300F-12L and WHTSE030 sit in the ≥ 2 A band. WHTS20EF1000U is listed at 8.35 A on 12 V, so plan secondary copper, rectifiers and cooling early.

04

Windings and controller

Where a datasheet shows an auxiliary winding, it supplies the controller and must match its startup and bias needs. Compare main and auxiliary winding roles and the pin map before moving between EFD20 PoE transformers.

Applications

Applications for EFD20 PoE transformers

EFD20 PoE transformers serve powered devices that need 30 W or more from the converter.

Cameras

PTZ and outdoor cameras

PTZ cameras and outdoor units with heaters or wipers need more power on a 12 V or 24 V rail. WH300F-12L and WH300F-24L are listed at 30 W for those rails.

USB power

5 V USB and compute loads

Multi-port USB chargers and compute boards fed over PoE need 5 V at higher current. WH300F-50L is listed for 5 V at 30 W in the ≥ 2 A band; check secondary copper loss there.

Displays

Displays, signage and lighting

Displays and lighting fixtures on a 12 V rail can shortlist WHTSE030 at 60 W. WHTS20EF1000U is listed at 100 W; confirm that the source and cabling can deliver that budget before you design around it.

Sourcing

Buying EFD20 PoE transformers from VOOHU

VOOHU manufactures EFD20 PoE transformers in its own magnetics factory in Mianyang. Datasheets, 3D models and PCB footprints for every part listed here support early thermal and layout review of your design.

01

Samples and quotations

Samples are available for evaluation, and selected parts are free of charge. Our FAE team will be glad to confirm the options for your project. With the part number, quantity and target build date we can quote; typical lead time is 7–10 days.

02

Replacement review

When a high-power design needs a second source, send the current transformer’s part number and datasheet. Our FAE team reviews output rail, power, auxiliary winding and footprint, then names EFD20 candidates for you to validate with samples before production.

03

Quality and compliance

VOOHU is ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certified. VOOHU’s PoE transformers are RoHS and REACH compliant (third-party test reports). Since 2018 VOOHU has supplied more than 1,500 customers, including 150+ listed companies.

FAQ & related guides

EFD20 PoE transformer questions and answers

Answers on buying direct, choosing a power step and design files.

How do the three WH300F output variants differ?

WH300F-50L, WH300F-12L and WH300F-24L are listed for 5 V, 12 V and 24 V reference outputs, respectively. Then check input, load, controller and windings. They are not interchangeable versions of one circuit. Do not interpret “50L” as a 50 V specification.

How should I use the WH300F-24L current range and datasheet?

The range is a filter. The A0 datasheet lists 24 V, 1.25 A and reference conditions of 36–72 V and 250 kHz. Do not treat the filter's upper limit as continuous output capability. Check the controller circuit, temperature rise and available input power.

Does the EFD20 part labeled 100 W mean standard PoE supplies 100 W to a device?

No. The WHTS20EF1000U 100 W page label is not the power available to a device through a standard PoE port. Distinguish PSE output, cable losses, PD input and DC/DC losses. If the target load is 100 W, ask the FAE to review the source and complete power budget first.

Can I replace a 12 V EFD20 part with a higher-power-labeled 12 V part?

Not based on those labels alone. Compare topology, input, frequency, main and auxiliary windings, pinout and PCB dimensions for WH300F-12L, WHTSE030 and WHTS20EF1000U. A higher label does not prove compatibility with the existing circuit. Request FAE difference assessment.

What should I provide for an EFD20 new design or replacement?

For a new design, share input/output, load, control scheme and board limits. For replacement work, add the original part, available datasheet and fixed constraints. You can ask before everything is ready. For a confirmed part, send quantity, destination and requested date for samples or a quote.

Can I buy EFD20 PoE transformers direct from the manufacturer?

Yes. VOOHU manufactures them in its own magnetics factory in Mianyang, China, and you can request EFD20 samples and quotations from this page. Our sales team coordinates any FAE review of your circuit and layout.

How do I choose an EFD20 PoE transformer for a 12 V load?

Take the continuous load and startup peaks at the converter output, then the first step that covers them with margin: WH300F-12L at 30 W, WHTSE030 at 60 W or WHTS20EF1000U at 100 W. Check temperature rise at your maximum ambient.

What design files come with each EFD20 PoE transformer?

Each part listed here has a datasheet, a 3D model and a PCB footprint. Use the datasheet for the winding diagram, test conditions and outline, the 3D model for enclosure clearance, and the footprint as the start of your land pattern.
