Waterproof RJ45 plug for the cable side

A waterproof RJ45 plug is the cable-side half of a sealed Ethernet connection: WHKNZ01000FS is crimped onto the cable and secured to its socket with a spiral lock. It is also listed as a waterproof RJ45 male plug or waterproof RJ45 male connector. Panel parts in the same locking RJ45 range, such as the 180° straight-through feed-throughs, have their own pages; confirm mating pairs on the drawings.

Crimp termination

WHKNZ01000FS is terminated by crimping; plan the tooling with our FAE team and pull-test a few crimped samples before the first run.

Does the plug alone provide IP67?

No. The rating applies to the mated and correctly assembled pair, plug into socket, with the gland tightened onto a cable inside its specified diameter range. An unmated plug, or one assembled onto the wrong cable diameter, does not achieve the sealing the rating implies.

What socket does it mate with?

It mates with the sealed panel socket in the waterproof RJ45 range. Confirm the specific mating part from the drawings rather than assuming any waterproof socket will seal against it, because thread form and sealing face vary between designs.

What cable diameter does it accept?

The gland accepts a stated diameter range, given on the drawing. A cable thinner than the range will not seal; one thicker will not assemble. Check the outer diameter of the actual cable, including any jacket variation between batches.

Can it be assembled in the field?

These plugs are designed to be assembled onto a cable rather than supplied overmoulded, so field assembly is possible. Follow the assembly sequence in the instructions, particularly the order of the gland components, because a part assembled out of sequence will not seal.

How do I request samples or a quote?

With a complete part number, send the part number, quantity, delivery region and the date you need it. If you are still selecting, send the cable outer diameter, the mating socket part number and the ingress rating required.

Is VOOHU a waterproof RJ45 plug manufacturer?

Yes. VOOHU manufactures WHKNZ01000FS in its own connector factory in Dongguan, China, alongside the panel-side parts of its locking RJ45 range.

How does WHKNZ01000FS terminate and lock?

It is crimped onto the cable and locks to its socket with a spiral lock, listed for 1,000 mating cycles. Check the drawing for the space the lock needs.
