18G LAN Transformer

Explore the WHSM24P01P1 18G LAN transformer: a single-port, 24-pin SMD part with a mechanical drawing, internal schematic and frequency-dependent electrical data. Request samples or pricing, or have FAE review a specified PHY, link rate or IEEE compliance requirement rather than treating the 18G designation as proof of interface compatibility.

FAQ & related guides

Questions before design-in

These answers guide the page workflow. Part-specific engineering limits still come from the linked technical files.

Which LAN transformer is available in the 18G range?

The range currently features WHSM24P01P1. Its published datasheet, titled 18G BASE-T, includes the mechanical drawing, internal schematic and electrical parameters. Start your review with this part. The designation itself is not certification to a particular IEEE interface standard; confirm the applicable PHY, rate modes and validation conditions for your project.

Do specifications up to 800 MHz make the part suitable for any 18 Gbps link?

No. The 800 MHz figure is the upper frequency of relevant electrical specifications, not a link rate to be calculated from it. Check the target PHY, signal requirements and limits for the applicable bands, then validate the actual circuit.

How should I read the 720 mA and 1440 mA figures for WHSM24P01P1?

The datasheet specifies 720 mA DC balanced current for each channel and 1440 mA for full channels. Keep these original scopes; do not relabel them as per-pin or per-winding ratings, or transfer the two-to-one relationship to other parts. FAE should confirm the actual power paths against the project requirements.

Can another 24-pin, 1.0 mm-pitch part directly replace WHSM24P01P1?

Pin count and pitch are not enough. Compare complete dimensions, pin functions, the internal schematic, turns ratio, frequency-dependent specifications and PoE conditions. Share the proposed replacement and any no-board-change constraints for a difference review before deciding the validation plan.

How do I request samples or project matching for the 18G range?

If you need WHSM24P01P1, send quantity, destination and required timing to request samples or pricing. If suitability is still being assessed, share the target PHY, interface requirements and known design constraints for a sales engineer to coordinate with FAE. You do not need every document ready to start the discussion.
