Series overview

WHPBU-150705N power bead inductors for fast phases

WHPBU-150705N power bead inductors are low-value, high current power inductors for multiphase VRMs that switch fast or run many phases. They are also listed as VRM inductors or high current inductors. Values run from 100 nH (WHPBU-150705N-R10L0) to 150 nH (WHPBU-150705N-R15L0), each with 0.47 mΩ ±7% DCR and 53 A heating current. Higher values are on the WHPBU-100705N and WHPBU-131308N pages.

01

Saturation by value

Hot saturation falls as inductance rises: WHPBU-150705N-R10L0 lists 105 A at 25 °C and 80 A at 100 °C, WHPBU-150705N-R12L0 87 A and 75 A, WHPBU-150705N-R15L0 72 A and 60 A.

02

Heating sets the limit

Every part lists 53 A heating current, below its 100 °C saturation figure, so temperature rise, not saturation, sets the continuous limit per phase. Plan airflow and copper area early.

03

Against WHPBU-100705N

At the same 150 nH, WHPBU-100705N-R15L0 on the WHPBU-100705N page lists 35 A hot saturation and 31 A heating current. WHPBU-150705N-R15L0 offers 60 A and 53 A for its higher DCR.

04

DCR and copper loss

Every WHPBU-150705N power bead inductor lists 0.47 mΩ ±7% DCR, so conduction loss per phase does not depend on the inductance you choose; budget it at your RMS phase current.

Applications

Where WHPBU-150705N power bead inductors fit

Fast, many-phase VRMs need little inductance per phase but strong current capability.

GPU power

Graphics and AI accelerator VRMs

GPU and accelerator boards run many DrMOS phases at high frequency. WHPBU-150705N-R10L0 at 100 nH keeps 80 A of hot saturation for load steps, with 53 A heating current per phase.

Servers

Server CPU VRMs

A server CPU VRM with a high phase count can use WHPBU-150705N-R12L0 at 120 nH, listed at 87 A at 25 °C and 75 A at 100 °C.

Networking

Switch ASIC core rails

Switch ASIC core rails draw high current at low voltage. WHPBU-150705N-R15L0 at 150 nH suits stages that switch a little slower, where ripple control needs the extra inductance per phase.

Sourcing

Getting WHPBU-150705N power bead inductors from VOOHU

VOOHU manufactures the WHPBU-150705N series in its own magnetics factory in Mianyang. Each part number has a datasheet, but no 3D model or PCB footprint file.

01

Samples and quotations

Samples are available for evaluation, and selected parts are free of charge. Our FAE team will be glad to confirm the options for your project. For a quotation, give the part number, phases per board and volume; typical lead time is 7–10 days.

02

Replacement review

Send the part number and datasheet of the power bead inductor you plan to replace. Our FAE team compares inductance, DCR, saturation and heating current and outline, then proposes WHPBU-150705N candidates to validate with samples before production.

03

Quality and company

VOOHU is ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certified. Since 2018 VOOHU has supplied more than 1,500 customers, including 150+ listed companies. The same Mianyang factory makes VOOHU’s WHYT molded power inductors for the smaller rails.

FAQ

WHPBU-150705N power bead inductor FAQ

Supply, picking a value and a comparison with WHPBU-131308N.

Why is the inductance range so low?

It spans 100 to 150 nanohenries, the lowest band in the family. Less inductance per phase is what high switching frequency and high phase count designs need, because both reduce the ripple that each phase has to smooth. It is a deliberate fit, not a limitation.

What current does it handle?

Saturation at 100 degrees runs from 60 to 80 amps, and heating current is 53 amps. So it carries substantial continuous current with strong peak capability, which is the combination a high frequency multiphase stage usually needs.

Why is the DC resistance higher than other series?

At about 0.47 milliohm it is the highest in the family. The wide low body trades some copper cross-section for a lower height. If board height is not constrained and loss is critical, compare the 100710N at 0.18 milliohm before deciding.

When would I choose this over the 100710N?

When height is restricted over the power stage, or when your design needs inductance at the low end of the range and the extra headroom of the 100710N is not required. If neither applies and loss matters, the lower resistance part is usually the better choice.

How do I request samples or a quote?

With a complete part number, send the part number, quantity, delivery region and the date you need it. If you are still selecting, send the switching frequency, phase count, per-phase RMS and peak current and the height available over the stage.

Is VOOHU a WHPBU-150705N power bead inductor manufacturer?

Yes. VOOHU manufactures WHPBU-150705N power bead inductors in its own magnetics factory in Mianyang, China, with its other WHPBU series and molded power inductors, so the VRM and the smaller rails can share one supplier.

Which WHPBU-150705N value should I start with?

Start from switching frequency, phase count and ripple target. More phases or higher frequency point to WHPBU-150705N-R10L0 at 100 nH; fewer phases to WHPBU-150705N-R15L0 at 150 nH. Then check each peak against that power bead’s hot saturation.

How does WHPBU-150705N compare with the 110 nH WHPBU-131308N part?

On the WHPBU-131308N page, WHPBU-131308N-R11K0 at 110 nH lists 105 A hot saturation, 45 A heating current and 0.32 mΩ DCR. WHPBU-150705N-R10L0 at 100 nH lists 80 A, 53 A and 0.47 mΩ: more steady current, less headroom.
