Wireless AP Reference Design
An illustrative reference design for a ceiling-mount Wi-Fi 6 / 7 wireless AP at the access layer of the five-layer network architecture: a single 2.5G port (2.5G PHY + RJ45 with integrated 2.5G magnetics rated for 1 A PoE) carries both uplink data and 802.3bt power, a PD flyback produces 12V, and the tri-band radios connect to the SoC over PCIe. Each position is marked with the VOOHU parts available, recommended part numbers and package pinouts.
Illustrative PCB ⇄ Schematic
Illustrative top-side view arranged by functional zone (not the actual layout). Red numbered dots mark positions VOOHU can supply. Click a component on the board, an entry in the index below or a part in the schematic to see recommended parts and package pinouts on the right.
Illustrative uplink topology: the AP SoC's HSGMII connects to the 2.5G PHY JL4201 (U2), whose MDI passes ESD D1 (WHALD03G4U) straight into the RJ45 with integrated 2.5G magnetics (J1), with the isolation transformers and common-mode chokes inside the connector; the two sets of cable-side center taps are brought out to the rectifier bridges for PoE power (see the "PoE PD input" tab), and the PHY-side center taps go to ground through 0.1µF. 2.5GBASE-T uses 4 pairs; only 1 is drawn. The PHY crystal, series resistors and decoupling are not drawn.
