Home Wi-Fi 6 Router Reference Design
An illustrative part-selection reference design for dual-band Wi-Fi 6 (AX3000-class) home routers: 1 × 2.5G WAN, 4 × Gigabit LAN, USB 3.0 and a 12V DC adapter input. The four LAN ports show three magnetics options side by side: RJ45 with integrated magnetics, a discrete Gigabit LAN transformer, and Chip LAN. The illustrative PCB and schematics give the function, VOOHU parts available and package pinout for 32 positions, for selection reference.

Illustrative 2.5G WAN port topology: the SoC connects to the 2.5G PHY JL4201 over SGMII / H-SGMII; the MDI pairs pass the ESD arrays (4 lines each, 2 arrays for 4 pairs) into the discrete 2.5G LAN transformer T1. The cable-side center tap goes through 75Ω×2 + 1nF/2kV to chassis ground and the PHY-side center tap has 0.1µF to ground. Only one differential pair is drawn; the other 3 pairs are identical. Series resistors and decoupling are omitted; values per the VOOHU datasheets and the actual design.
