Series overview

EFD25 PoE transformers at 45–90 W

An EFD25 PoE transformer, also listed as an EFD25 PoE power transformer, is built for the isolated DC-DC stage of a high-power PoE powered device, where port power becomes a 12 V, 15 V or 24 V rail. Parts here are listed from 45 W to 90 W. For 30 W to 100 W in the EFD20 core, see EFD20 PoE transformers.

01

Power range

WHPJ260083 is listed at 45 W, WHEFD25020 at 60 W, WHTSE622 at 72 W and WHEFD25571 at 90 W. Size from the PD’s real power budget, not the label alone.

02

Choosing the rail

WHTSE622 gives 12 V, WHPJ260083 gives 15 V, and WHEFD25020 and WHEFD25571 give 24 V. Where possible, take the rail your load uses directly, avoiding an extra DC-DC conversion stage.

03

Output current

WHPJ260083 is listed at 3 A and WHEFD25571 at 3.75 A; WHEFD25020 and WHTSE622 sit in the ≥ 2 A band. At these currents, copper and rectifier losses drive thermal design.

04

Input and windings

EFD25 parts do not share one input range or winding plan. WHEFD25020, for example, adds a synchronous-drive winding and an auxiliary winding to its 24 V output. Check both per datasheet.

Applications

Typical EFD25 PoE transformer designs

EFD25 PoE transformers suit powered devices needing 45 W or more.

Lighting

PoE LED lighting on 24 V

PoE luminaires and LED drivers often run from a 24 V rail. WHEFD25020 (60 W) and WHEFD25571 (90 W, 3.75 A) are the 24 V candidates; size from the full-brightness load.

Displays

Signage at 12 V

Digital signage, kiosks and monitors often run from a 12 V rail. WHTSE622 is listed for 12 V at 72 W in the ≥ 2 A band; check backlight peaks against it.

Audio

15 V audio amplifiers

PoE speakers and amplifier boards with a 15 V supply can start from WHPJ260083, listed at 45 W with a 3 A output. Confirm peak audio power against that figure.

Sourcing

EFD25 PoE transformer supply from VOOHU

VOOHU manufactures the EFD25 PoE transformers on this page in its own magnetics factory in Mianyang. Each EFD25 part comes with a published datasheet, 3D model and PCB footprint to download.

01

Samples and quotations

Samples are available for evaluation, and selected parts are free of charge. Our FAE team will be glad to confirm the options for your project. Send the part number and quantity for a quotation; typical lead time is 7–10 days.

02

Replacement

For a replacement, share the current transformer’s part number and datasheet. Our FAE team checks output rail, power, winding plan and footprint against the EFD25 range and proposes candidates, which you validate with samples before production.

03

Quality

VOOHU is ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certified, and its PoE transformers are RoHS and REACH compliant (third-party test reports). Since 2018 VOOHU has supplied more than 1,500 customers, including 150+ listed companies.

FAQ & related guides

EFD25 PoE transformers: your questions

Answers on manufacturing, 12 V and 15 V parts, and EFD20.

What differs between the two 24 V candidates, WHEFD25020 and WHEFD25571?

More than their power labels. The reviewed datasheets specify input conditions of 41–57 V and 28–60 V, respectively, with different main outputs, auxiliary windings and mechanical drawings. Compare the circuit and drawings, not just “24 V.” Ask the FAE to review connections and layout for an existing board.

Are WHEFD25020's Sec, Sync and Aux three equivalent outputs?

No. Its datasheet separately identifies Sec at 24 V/2.5 A, Sync at 6 V/200 mA and Aux at 12 V/200 mA. Review their functions and connections against the controller circuit. They must not be described as three equal-power isolated supplies or used interchangeably.

Does the EFD25 90 W label mean a device receives 90 W through standard PoE?

No. Interpret the WHEFD25571 page label within its component design conditions, not as available device power. Separate PSE output, cable and PD losses, and DC/DC losses. Confirm that actual load and startup peaks fit the available power budget.

Can all EFD25 parts share a PCB footprint?

Check each part. WHEFD25020 and WHEFD25571 differ in dimensions and pin spacing, and their winding-to-pin connections require review. Even a shared 3D download does not prove compatibility. Use the datasheet and PCB file confirmed for the selected part.

Can I discuss EFD25 replacement or samples without complete controller information?

Yes. Send the original part, available datasheet, output load and board limits. Sales coordinates FAE review of the remaining questions; you do not need to finish matching yourself. For a known part, request samples or a quote directly. Replacement suitability still needs circuit-based validation.

Where are VOOHU’s EFD25 PoE transformers made?

In VOOHU’s own magnetics factory in Mianyang, China. VOOHU manufactures the EFD25 PoE transformers on this page and publishes a datasheet, 3D model and PCB footprint for each, so design review can start before samples.

Which EFD25 PoE transformer covers a 12 V or 15 V rail?

WHTSE622 is listed for 12 V at 72 W in the ≥ 2 A band, and WHPJ260083 for 15 V at 45 W with a 3 A output. Check each datasheet’s input range and winding plan first.

Should a 60 W design use EFD25 or EFD20?

Choose by output rail first. At 60 W, this page lists WHEFD25020 for 24 V. The EFD20 PoE transformer page lists WHTSE030 at 60 W for 12 V. Cores, windings and drawings differ, so compare datasheets.
