Server + NIC Reference Design
An illustrative server and NIC reference design for the data center / cloud layer of the five-layer network architecture: a PCIe server NIC provides 2 × 25G SFP28 ports (SFP28 2×1 combo cage) and 1 × 10GBASE-T copper port (RJ45 with integrated 10G magnetics), with RoCE v2 support; the server BMC out-of-band management port (RJ45 with integrated magnetics + Gigabit PHY) works with the NIC over NC-SI. The board view combines the NIC and the BMC management port, powered through the edge connector. Each position is marked with the VOOHU parts available, recommended part numbers and package pinouts.

Illustrative 25G optical port topology: the TX / RX differential pairs of the NIC controller's 25G SerDes pass AC-coupling capacitors (fitted as the SerDes requires; SFP28 modules are already AC-coupled internally) to TD± / RD± of the SFP28 2×1 combo cage, which takes optical modules, AOCs or passive DACs; control and status lines go to I²C / GPIO, and the module 3.3V is filtered by a VOOHU molded inductor, one per port. Each differential pair is drawn as a single line.
