Series overview
SFP+ connector and cage selection
An SFP+ connector and cage make up the host side of a 10G pluggable port, between the switch or NIC silicon and the front panel. Related names include 10G SFP+ cage and SFP+ cage assembly. Cages run from 1 x 1 to 1 x 6 and stacked assemblies from 2 x 1 to 2 x 8, mostly press-fit. For 5 Gb/s ports, see SFP connectors and cages; for 25G, see SFP28 connectors and cages.
Heat sink cages at 10G
Heat sink versions span single-row widths from the 1 x 1 WHSFP10111W124 to the 1 x 6 WH296T459D0S32, and WH81-111-Y0018-1 pairs a heat sink with solder mounting. Check the added height against lid and panel clearance.
Gold plating on assemblies
Assemblies list the connector gold: 15U on parts such as WHSFP15121D002 (2 x 1), 30U on parts such as WHSFP16128F007 (2 x 8). Prefer thicker plating where modules are swapped often.
Standalone connectors
For a separately placed cage, the range lists the SFP+ connectors WH290Z019D0S01 (solder, 15U gold), WH81-151-Y0002-1 (15U) and WH290W119D0S03 (30U). Check connector and cage drawings together so the module seats as intended.
Applications
Typical uses for SFP+ connectors
These ports carry 10G fiber or direct-attach copper links.
Top-of-rack and aggregation switches
Dense switches stack SFP+ ports to fit more per rack unit. The 2 x 8 WHSFP16228F028 and 2 x 6 WHSFP16026F033 have light pipes; WHSFP16128F007 is a 2 x 8 version without them.
Network adapters and storage
NICs and storage controllers need one or two ports at the card edge. Single-row cages such as WH291Z02SD0S02 (1 x 1) or WHSFP10612W042 (1 x 2, heat sink) keep the bracket area compact.
Embedded and industrial 10G links
Some embedded boards need a cage soldered rather than pressed in. WHSFP11214W004 is a 1 x 4 solder cage and WH81-111-Y0013-1 a 1 x 1 solder cage; check the soldering requirements in each datasheet.

Do an SFP+ connector and transceiver share the same specifications?
No. Connector specifications concern contacts, mounting and electrical performance; transceivers also have optical and protocol parameters. This page covers host-side components.
Can an SFP+ cage directly replace an SFP cage?
Review the part-specific mechanical, panel, PCB and module requirements and validate samples. Names and appearance alone do not establish replacement suitability.
How do I check clearance for a multiport SFP+ assembly?
Check the array, panel projection, module extraction, light pipes and nearby PCB components using the selected part drawing in the host assembly.
Can catalog light-pipe symbols be used as accessory specifications?
No. Obtain the legend and part-specific information for quantity, position and supplied content. Do not infer meaning from undefined symbols.
What is needed for an SFP+ replacement assessment?
Provide existing connector/cage parts, module type, array, PCB/panel drawings and thermal needs for FAE to compare candidates and differences.
Where are VOOHU SFP+ cages and connectors made?
In VOOHU’s own connector factory in Dongguan, China. VOOHU manufactures the cages, assemblies and connectors on this page there, and the same plant builds the SFP and SFP28 families for boards that mix port speeds.
When should I choose an SFP+ cage with a heat sink?
Choose one when module power, airflow or enclosure temperature leaves little thermal margin. WHSFP11014W085 (1 x 4) and WH81-112-00013-1 (1 x 2) are examples; confirm the gain in your own thermal test and check the added height.
What changes between an SFP+ connector and an SFP28 connector?
