FAQ LAN Transformer: WHSM24707D0

Can the WHSM24707D0 be used on a 10G port that needs PoE?

No. The WHSM24707D0 datasheet gives no PoE or DC balance current rating. For PoE in the same 24-pin outline, use the WHSM24702P1 (PoE 30 W) or the WHSM24706C2 (PoE 90 W).

How does the WHSM24707D0 isolation rating compare with the WHSM24702P1 and WHSM24706C2?

The WHSM24707D0 is hipot-tested at 3000 VAC, 1 mA for 2 s; the other two are tested at 1500 VAC, 1 mA for 60 s. Because voltage and test duration both differ, check the figure against the test condition your safety standard specifies rather than comparing the voltages alone.

What are the WHSM24707D0's inductance and temperature ratings?

OCL is 120 µH min at 100 kHz, 0.1 V, and the operating temperature range is -40 °C to +85 °C. Leakage inductance is 0.5 µH max and DCR is 900 mΩ max; storage temperature is -40 °C to +85 °C.
