WHSQ48002G 2.5G/5GBASE-T LAN Transformer

No. The datasheet assigns no DC balance current capability to the centre taps of the WHSQ48002G, so the part does not support PoE. Terminate the centre taps as the reference design for the target PHY requires.

Where both ports have to deliver power, send VOOHU the target PoE wattage, the steady current expected in each centre-tap path, the temperature range and the footprint constraint, and VOOHU will re-select against those requirements.

Three figures separate the WHSQ48002G from the 24-pin parts in this range: a maximum height of 7.50 mm, a lead pitch of 1.02 mm and 350 pieces per reel. The single-port parts stand 4.00 mm tall and ship 800 pieces per reel, so both the enclosure clearance and the reel-change interval have to be recalculated.

Coplanarity for the WHSQ48002G is specified as 0.10 mm across the 48 soldering surfaces, and the part is MSL level 1, so no pre-bake is required under normal storage.
