Every published electrical and mechanical field matches value for value — the same 17.55 × 12.20 mm body, 1.27 mm pitch, 24-pin single-port surface-mount package, down to an identical recommended land pattern; the difference is on the schematic, where the WHSG24701AG draws three magnetic elements per channel against two on the WHSG24701G.
Either part will fit the same board, but the internal structure differs and EMC has to be re-verified on the finished unit after a change.
The body is 17.55 × 12.20 mm, 17.55 × 16.00 mm including leads, 6.00 mm high, on a 1.27 mm pitch, with 0.100 mm coplanarity across 24 terminations.
The WHSG24701AG shares one recommended land pattern with several parts in the same family — the largest common-footprint group in the 100/1000 BASE-T range, which lets one board move between capability grades. A shared land pattern is not the same as interchangeability, though: some parts differ in internal element count and others in pin assignment, so check placement against the target part's own drawing.
The datasheet carries no PoE current item, so the WHSG24701AG should not be selected as a PoE part and its port has to be powered locally.
Where power over the cable is required, move at selection time to a part whose datasheet states a current capability — preferably one that also names the scope (for example "each channel supports N mA"), so the port power budget does not depend on interpreting the figure. PoE-rated parts are grouped in the 100/1000 BASE-T range.
