How much PoE load can the WHSQ24015G carry?
The WHSQ24015G supports 350 mA of DC balance current per magnetic channel, with a maximum PoE figure of 30 W across the four pairs. The 350 mA rating belongs to a single centre-tap path and no full-channel total is published, so it must not be multiplied by four to produce a port figure.
The datasheet prints no IEEE 802.3 clause and no PoE class name for the WHSQ24015G, so the 30 W wording cannot be read as compliance with a particular class. Size four balanced copper paths at 350 mA each, taking the width from your actual copper thickness and permitted rise.
What equipment is the WHSQ24015G suitable for?
The WHSQ24015G suits indoor 2.5G and 5GBASE-T ports that feed power through the centre taps, with the component temperature between 0 °C and +70 °C. It is a single-port, 24-pin SMD transformer, and typical uses are multi-gigabit switches with powered ports, indoor wireless access points and camera ports.
Two situations rule the WHSQ24015G out: equipment that must power up below 0 °C, and links where the steady current in one centre-tap path would exceed 350 mA. Wider-temperature options are listed in the 2.5G/5G BASE-T range.
How do I choose between the WHSQ24015G and the WHSQ24015T0, both 24-pin single-port parts?
Decide by whether the port passes current through the centre taps: the WHSQ24015G quotes 350 mA of DC balance current per channel, while the electrical block of the WHSQ24015T0 carries no current item at all. Temperature runs the other way – the WHSQ24015T0 covers -40 °C to +85 °C where the WHSQ24015G covers 0 °C to +70 °C.
The two share outline, suggested pad layout and every high-frequency limit, so a wide-temperature version is not automatically the PoE-capable one here, and the suffix alone will not tell you the current capability of the WHSQ24015G.
