WHSG24R03D0 Gigabit LAN Transformer

The WHSG24R03D0 is rated 3000 VAC, a grade above the standard parts in its family — but the test conditions have to be read alongside it.

This part is tested at 1 mA for 2 s. The usual statement in this product line is 1500 VAC applied for 60 s. The voltage is higher but held for far less time, so these are different test conditions and cannot be compared on voltage alone. Pick whichever matches how the system's safety documentation states the requirement. Other isolation grades are listed in the 100/1000 BASE-T range.

Turns-ratio error feeds directly into differential balance: the smaller the deviation, the less common-mode energy converts to differential mode, and the more margin remains on return loss and common-mode rejection. The WHSG24R03D0 is delivered to ±3% where most parts in this line are ±5%.

For an ordinary indoor Gigabit port ±5% is sufficient; where the EMC margin on the finished unit is already tight, or the link runs long cable in a noisy environment, the tighter grade is worth weighing at selection time. Tolerances are stated per part across the 100/1000 BASE-T range.
