Size balanced copper paths against 1200 mA each, taking the width from your actual copper thickness and permitted rise. If the project needs a controlled port total for its power budget, ask us for it before committing the design.

Not as a drop-in. The WHSM30101-2PG comes in a 30-pin package, so its pin count and land pattern differ from the 24-pin parts that make up most of this speed class, and changing to it is a board revision rather than a second source. The 10G electrical block is largely common across the range, so the differential signalling design usually carries over; the footprint, routing and centre-tap return paths do not.

Check the pads against the current WHSM30101-2PG package drawing before release, not against another part's drawing.

The WHSM30101-2PG suits indoor 10G powered ports where the component temperature stays between 0 °C and +70 °C. Typical uses are powered ports on enterprise switches, access points and network cameras, and 10G power-sourcing boards inside racks. Budget the port against 1200 mA per magnetic channel, as the datasheet publishes no full-channels total.

The -40 °C to +85 °C storage range of the WHSM30101-2PG is what the part survives unpowered and cannot be used as an operating condition; for powered operation below 0 °C, move to a wide-temperature part in the 10G BASE-T range.
