WHS16002GA 10/100BASE-TX LAN Transformer

The datasheet states AEC-Q200 tested, the only part in this catalogue carrying that line.

AEC-Q200 is the automotive reliability qualification for passive components, covering temperature cycling, humidity, mechanical shock and electrical drift among other tests. The WHS16002GA datasheet also states compliance with IEEE 802.3 and with RoHS. Where a project has to submit an automotive-qualified bill of materials, this is the part in the 10/100 BASE-T range that carries the claim; request the test report and grade from VOOHU — this page does not substitute for the qualification documents.

Both are specified per band and both are a grade tighter: cross talk is -40 dB Min from 1–60 MHz and -35 dB Min from 60–100 MHz; common-mode rejection is -37 dB Min from 1–60 MHz and -30 dB Min from 60–100 MHz.

The standard parts on the same land pattern state a single -30 dB Min across the whole band. Below 60 MHz that gives the WHS16002GA 10 dB more cross-talk margin and 7 dB more common-mode rejection. Its DC resistance is also stated separately for primary and secondary, where the standard parts give one combined figure.

Which one applies depends on whether the packaging is opened: stored in its tape and reel the WHS16002GA limit is +10 °C to +40 °C; as a bare component it is -40 °C to +125 °C.

The two lines are not contradictory — they govern different things. The narrower figure covers the tape, reel and moisture barrier bag, not the transformer. The practical impact is in warehousing: an unconditioned warehouse easily exceeds the upper limit in summer and can fall below the lower one in winter, which leaves the WHS16002GA itself fine but the packaging outside its stated condition. Plan storage locations against the packaged figure when holding stock long term.

The wording used is "tested", meaning the WHS16002GA has been through the AEC-Q200 test suite.

AEC-Q200 is a qualification specification rather than a certificate issued by a body: the component maker runs the tests and issues a report, which the vehicle maker or Tier 1 reviews at design-in. Before submitting automotive documentation, request the test report from VOOHU and confirm that the covered tests, grade and lot meet your customer's review criteria — rather than relying on that single datasheet line as the commitment. Other grades in the 10/100 BASE-T range carry no automotive claim.
