What should be watched in the WHS40005TG reflow profile?
Both ramp rates are given as 6 °C/s Max, which is looser than the 3 °C/s ramp-up ceiling some parts in this family state, so a line cannot carry the figure the other way.
The rest of the profile preheats to 125 °C, counts time above liquidus from 217 °C, and peaks at 250 °C. When one oven runs mixed parts, set the recipe from the strictest of them — that the WHS40005TG allows the looser ramp does not mean the other components do. The datasheet does not print an MSL grade; request it from VOOHU where one is needed. Other options are in the 10/100 BASE-T range.
The WHS40005TG states -40 °C to +85 °C for both operation and storage — what does that mean in practice?
On the WHS40005TG one range covers both, so the two do not have to be managed separately.
Elsewhere in the 10/100 BASE-T range the two ranges differ — some parts are narrower in operation than in storage, others the reverse — and each has to be checked on its own. On the WHS40005TG they coincide, so warehousing, transport and long unpowered periods are governed by the same figures as operation. The upper ceiling still applies to the part itself; where conditions exceed it, give VOOHU the actual figures for confirmation.
What equipment suits the WHS40005TG?
Four-port 100M equipment whose component temperature can fall below freezing or reach +85 °C.
Typical uses are DIN-rail industrial switches, access equipment inside outdoor enclosures and edge gateways in rooms without climate control — all with fixed, regular port arrangements that suit a quad part. The WHS40005TG carries no PoE capability, so ports are powered locally; it is surface-mount, reflow-assembled, 400 pcs per reel. Where the same platform also ships a commercial-grade model, the WHS40005G matches value for value apart from operating temperature, so the two can be bought per model without a board change.
